The charity's senior trustee, Joyce Wainwright, died on Friday 4 February 2011 at the age of 88, peacefully and with family around her. Towards the end she wiggled her toes to signify 'Yes' to questions raised in lively discussions about everything from politics to hospital food which continued at her bedside to the end.
